One morning at the end of June, I was just getting my daily steps in at Haeundae Beach, like I always do, when I spotted something that piqued my interest: real gym equipment on the beach. Real machines, not those flimsy things you see everywhere in Korea that keep the elderly busy. I saw someone working out there, so I headed over and jumped on one of the machines.

Turns out, the person working out was the manager of the gym, a personal trainer and YouTuber called DrFit. We chatted for a bit, and to my surprise, he put me on a live stream on his YouTube channel! He told me the gym officially opens on July 1st, but they had just finished setting up the equipment and he was testing them out. He invited me to work out as well and asked me to come back often once the gym opened.

Since it opened, I've been going almost every day. Every time I meet new people, and sometimes I even give tips to some. The organizers are really friendly and welcoming to foreigners. Often, they post videos on Instagram and YouTube of people working out at the beach gym.

All About MuscleBeach Gym

So, what’s the deal with MuscleBeach Gym? It’s right on Haeundae Beach, which is super picturesque, making it the perfect spot for an outdoor workout. The sun tanning your skin, a cool breeze caressing your body after you finish a hard set. Amazing feeling. The gym is packed with top-notch equipment from Hammer Force. You’ll find a ton of machines, a dumbbell rack, a barbell and easy bar rack, and they even added a squat rack recently. You’ve got everything you need for a full-body workout. Furthermore, they are opening a little convenience store AND a cafe, also ON THE FRIGGIN’ BEACH!

As mentioned before, the gym is managed by the popular YouTuber DrFit. He’s around to make sure everyone’s working out safely, but mostly, you’re free to do your own thing. The atmosphere here is really laid-back. It’s a mix of tourists, locals, and all kinds of people – not just hardcore bodybuilders. Everyone’s curious about the new setup, and it’s slowly becoming a bit of a hotspot for folks who think it’s a cool and fun way to work out.

Review

I’ve been hitting up MuscleBeach Gym almost every day, and let me tell you, it’s a blast. There’s nothing quite like getting a workout in while soaking up the sun and feeling the sea breeze. Plus, you get a nice tan in the process. It’s modeled after the famous Venice Beach Gym in the USA, and I think it’s a great initiative to make people healthier

If you’re in Busan or planning a visit, you’ve got to check out MuscleBeach Gym. It’s a fun and unique way to stay active, enjoy the beach, and be part of a cool community. Just remember to bring your sunscreen, stay hydrated, and have a blast! If you want to workout together, hit me up on Instagram @hellgom_mark.
